COVID 19 and Project Self Arm
As the story goes, there are opportunities hidden in the closet of disaster. Resilience is when you are beaten up, you get up and seek the way around the obstacle.
The Mega Project that we started, hit a snag with the changing situation. As Pandemic is getting serious each passing day with more movement restriction and spiking cases of COVID 19, it was necessary to scale back the programs that we had initially decided. Our Mega Project is entirely a social interaction based program where motivating people, meeting potential audiences, and delivering them the information is an important part. Thus we could not continue with the pace we initially intended to undertake.
But my team is more motivated than before, they have not only defied all the odds but also got together to brainstorm new ideas to complete the project. We all know after all this is over, the world will not be like it was before. Internet-based awareness campaigns will get more traction. It will be a whole new world with newer opportunities knocking at the door.
As a team, we decided to divert the energies towards digitization and taking our Project online. Thus we have created our Facebook page where we are completing and updating the way we would be disseminating the message. A YouTube channel where our online directory would be explaining the way we are going to work.
Although we couldn’t make the most out of what we initially intended to do but we are just getting started on our new path.
As far as the future course of action is concerned I am sure with the lesson learned, we will be better able to adapt in the future and the miscalculation we did in understanding the situation will not be repeated. As it is said a wise man never makes a mistake twice. And the future belongs to those who learn from the setbacks.
The future of the project is a mixture of online seminars through emerging video conference tools like ZOOM and other platforms where wider audiences could be reached. Along with this, after the situation is back to normal we will also be reaching institutes as planned to get the most out of it.
